DSM codes and Work Group Chairs/Members
The list of DSM codes can be found here.
The names of the Work Group Chairs and Members comes from the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders-IV-TR.
When the DSM manuals are prepared, a Work Group is assigned to oversee a grouping of diagnostic categories and labels. You may want to cite as respondents in your complaint the people in charge of the Work Group(s) who were responsible for the label(s) you were given. So we suggest that you:
1. Search the following list to find the label(s) applied to you.
2. See which Work Group oversaw each of your labels for the 1994 edition (DSM-IV) and the 2000 edition (DSM-IV-TR) and who chaired those Work Groups, and then add them to the list of respondents in Section 1 of the complaint template that was sent to you. There are Work Groups listed at the beginning of each section of labels, and each section is labeled A. (Disorders usually first diagnosed in infancy, childhood, or adolescence), B. (Delirium, dementia, amnestic, and other cognitive disorders), C. (Substance-related disorders), D. (Schizophrenia and other psychotic disorders), E. (Mood disorders), F. (Anxiety disorders), G. (Somatoform disorders), H. (Factitious disorders), I. (Dissociative disorders), J.(Sexual and gender identity disorders), K. (Eating disorders) L.(Sleep disorders), M. (Impulse-control disorders) N.(Adjustment disorders), and O.(Personality disorders)
The reason you might consider adding the relevant people from both editions is that most changes were made in 1994, so most of the labels that were probably applied to you were approved at that time, but also the 2000 Work Groups had the chance to make changes that might have reduced the harm done to you but likely failed to do so.
3. Please note: A few of the Work Groups did not have Chairs, so in those cases, instead of the Chairs being listed here, all of the Work Group members are listed.
